Mostyn's Advice - How to Choose Your Curtains

Choosing the right curtains for your room begins with deciding the right size.

Full-length curtains from above the window to the floor will always look superb and add a touch of luxury whilst practically keeping out unwanted drafts.

Where possible full width, wall to wall curtains will give an illusion of space whilst adding extra comfort to your room.

In some rooms you will be working around furniture or radiators these will dictate the size and shape of your curtains.

If you are looking for curtains to provide privacy by drawing them at night then be sure to have generous fullness in the width of the curtains. This is usually at least twice the width of your track or pole – please see our easy to use chart in our How to Measure Guide.

Alternatively if privacy is not an issue you may choose dress curtains that are static and usually dressed with tiebacks just to soften the edges of the window. Tiebacks are both decorative and practical. They will keep your curtains in neat folds during the day whilst protecting the curtains away from unnecessary sunlight.

Mostyns have been helping people choose the right curtains for their homes for over 50 years. We want you to be more than satisfied with your new Mostyns curtains. We hope you find our advice both useful and informative.
